My name is Kim Gant, and I am a graduate of Appalachian State University holding a BM in Music Performance/Pedagogy and an MA in Music Education. I have taught music at both the secondary and community college level. I have also been involved in church music as a director of adult choral, youth choral, and children's youth and adult handbell choirs for over 20 years. I am also a current member of the adult handbell choir at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, in Hickory NC. I am currently an adjunct music instructor at Caldwell Community College and Technical Institute in Hudson, NC, as well as maintain a private studio in Hickory of 12-14 music students. I am a prior music instructor in piano/voice for the Harper School of Performing Arts in Lenoir, NC, and a prior music instructor for the NewArt School in Newton, NC. I was a member of the Hickory Choral Society for 15 years as a singer, serving also as a board member for 2 years. I am a current member of the Hickory Music Club, where we offer scholarships and performance opportunities for musicians at the college and local levels. I am a lifetime resident of Catawba County, currently residing in Hickory, NC, where I have lived for the past 30 plus years.
