Policies
1. Lessons are taught once a week at the same day and time, for 45 minutes, and are offered for ages 11 through adults. Hour lessons are available for students that become more advanced, or are already more advanced. Voice lessons are offered upon request from age 12 through adults as a combination option with piano. Students taking both voice and piano will require an hour time slot with 30 minutes of instruction in each area. The student comes to the instructor, however the lesson can be given online via Skype or Facetime if there is a problem with attending in person. Students MUST have a full sized keyboard/piano to practice on outside the instructor studio.
2. Students are expected to be on time for all lessons unless prior notification is given. If there is no prior notification students can be no more than 15 minutes late to a 45-minute lesson or 20 minutes late to an hour lesson or the lesson cannot be given for that day. Also, any music materials/books lost or forgotten could cause either the lesson to be canceled or shortened as there are no spare materials at the instructor location. Missed lesson policies will apply.
3. Lessons are based on 37 weeks of instruction divided into 10 monthly payments beginning in August and running thru May. Fees are due the last full week of each month for the following month. Please note that fees are a payment for a weekly time slot in the studio schedule as well as the actual music instruction, NOT a fee divided into individual lessons. Slots cannot be held or fees carried forward for missed lessons.
4. The fee structure is as follows: 45 minutes-$120/month, 1 hour-$160/month. Students may pay monthly or choose a semester payment option. Semesters will be divided from August through December, and from January through May. NOTE: Any returned checks will require cash payments for future lesson fees and a $5 late fee will be added to any fees collected past the 3rd of the month for those paying on a monthly basis.
5. Missed lessons can only be made up if there is a cancellation elsewhere in the weekly schedule. Students with missed lessons due to illness or emergency situations will be given first priority. Lessons missed due to vacations, camps, sports, or any other situation where the lesson cannot be rescheduled during the week given will not be made up. If a student must leave school early due to illness, or be out completely due to illness, and have a fever within a 24 hour period, do not bring them to a lesson. Every effort will be made to reschedule if possible. If lessons are permanently discontinued, notification must be given before a new month begins, or you must pay for that month.
6. Summer lessons: Lessons are taught on a year-round basis. Students will be required to sign up for either a 4-lesson (discounted) session, or an 8-lesson session during the months of June and July and first part of August to retain a spot in the studio. Missed lesson policies will apply.
7. Make-up lessons will be scheduled the week following the end of the 37-week session and the week following the summer session for anyone requesting a reschedule for a missed lesson. No lessons will be scheduled during Christmas break, Thanksgiving week, Easter week, or July 4th week and are not calculated into any session.
